For Red Ribbon Week Massapequa Elks Lodge #2162 held a Halloween Party Fundraiser to help raise funds for their drug awareness program. Members made Red Ribbons and gave them to each guest with literature about Red Ribbon Week. Massapequa's Drug Awareness chair, Margaret Motis asked all attendees to wear their ribbons proudly to help spread the word to our families and friends about the dangers of opioid abuse. She stated "If we save just one person then all our efforts were worth it " . There were 91 people in attendance including members, friends and family, Frank Hunt Past District Deputy and members from New York Lodge 1 also attended to show their support. . Even their skeletons wore their ribbons for the event.
