June 10, 2024, District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler - Richard Milhaven - presented ER Tom Harrington with the NYS Elks Association Major Projects Committee 2023-2024 Per Capita Award for Lodge #2162 achieving over $20 per capita. Congratulations to 2023-2024 Past Exalted Ruler Greg Vogel and Major Projects Chair Margaret Motis on this achievement. Massapequa Elks Lodge holds an ongoing collection of clean empty water bottles to be donated to Bottles of the Brave. Bottles of the Brave collects clean used water bottles and the money from the bottle deposits helps pay for mailing the packages to military. Massapequa Elks Lodge 2162 Drug Awareness Committee put together Drug Awareness Coloring Books and Book Marks for Massapequa's Elementary Schools to be handed out by the teachers during Red Ribbon Week. A total of 1,375 coloring books and bookmarks were donated for the 4th and 5th grade classes at Birch Lane Elementary, East Lake Elementary, Fairfield Elementary, Lockhart Elementary, McKenna Elementary, and Unqua Elementary.
